As many as 29 takfiris were killed in North and Central Sinai as part of the implementation of the "Martyr's Right" operation in the towns of Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid and several areas in Central Sinai, the Armed Forces announced Monday.
In a statement released on Monday, the Armed Forces said the operation was carried out by joint troops from the Second and Third Field armies backed by the Air Force and police.
Also four suspects were arrested in the same operation which took place yesterday.
Security forces were also able to seize an automatic rifle and destroy two cars and motorcycles.
The operation aims to purge an insurgency that has been active mainly in North Sinai since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
