Five police recruits were injured on Wednesday in a blast at the entrance of Arish city.
According to security sources, terrorist elements planted the bomb at the city's entrance while an armored vehicle was passing by.
The injured were carried to hospital, added the sources, noting that authorities were notified to start an investigation.
In a different development, a recruit of North Sinai security forces was injured in fire shooting against a security checkpoint in Arish.
According to security sources in North Sinai, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the checkpoint near al Masaeed firefighting station.
The injured was carried to hospital.
