Abbasiya’s blast took place at el Rasolan Botros and Poles Church (el Boutrosiya) adjacent to St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, sources with the church told MENA Sunday.
Police are downloading the content of the Cathedral's surveillance cameras to determine what caused the blast that left at least five people dead and 16 more injured, the sources added.
An anonymous had thrown a bomb into el Boutrosiya's prayer hall, the sources further revealed, noting that security forces are combing the church as a preventive measure.
