The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in the Safa neighborhood, south of the city of El Arish in the northern Sinai, during which tens of Egyptian police personnel were killed and others injured.
In a statement, the ministry said today that the UAE leadership, government and people support the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in the face of terrorism and extremism.
"The UAE condemns these criminal attacks and affirms its full solidarity with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in its fight against terrorist organisations and its efforts to move forward to achieving stability and defeating terrorism," it added.
The statement also called upon the international community to unite ranks and collaborate in carrying out its responsibilities in the fight against terrorist groups and extremist organisations.
