Algeria expressed reservations on granting Syrian opposition a seat at the Arab League, adding that there was still ambiguity about the opposition views and its real representatives. In its position, Algeria "abides by the laws, which should be the basis for joint Arab action," Medelci told reporters Sunday in Doha, following the morning session of the Arab Foreign Minister meeting, ahead of the Arab League summit. Medelci played down the Arab League seat issue, stressing that the most important now was to get the Syrians, all leanings taken into consideration, around a dialogue table to discuss how to restore peace and security in Syria. Dubbing "unacceptable" current situation in Syria, the minister reiterated Algeria’s condemnation of violence, whatever its source.
