An earthquake hit Iwate Prefecture on Thursday morning. Japan\'s Meteorological Agency estimates the earthquake\'s magnitude at 6.7. It struck on Thursday morning, according to Japan\'s (NHK) Tremors with an intensity of 5 minus on the Japanese Scale of 0 to 7 were registered in Aomori and Iwate prefectures. The epicenter was off the coast of Iwate prefecture, at a depth of about 20 kilometers. The agency issued tsunami advisories to coastal areas of Iwate prefecture but lifted them later. No major damage has been reported.
