A car has caught fire on the bridge over the Dubai Canal on Shaikh Zayed Road on Tuesday, Gulf News has learnt.
The white sedan's engine and bonnet were completely destroyed by the fire. The police did not provide further details about the incident.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Police reported several accidents on Dubai roads from the early hours of Tuesday due to rainy weather.
Minor traffic accidents were reported on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road on the second bridge coming from Sharjah.
At around 5:34 am, a Sharjah-bound truck caught fire on the same road, in front of Global Village.
"The front side of the truck burned, and we took the truck out to the hard shoulder and extinguished the fire. There were no reports of injuries," a Dubai Civil Defense spokesman told Gulf News.
The Dubai Police also reported several vehicle crashes on the Mirdif bridge towards Sharjah, and a traffic accident on Shaikh Zayed Road after Dubai Parks and Resorts
