The Romanian Opera in Bucharest hosted Monday evening an impressive art show with Sichuan Mianyang Theatre, performed as part of a series of events that celebrate the coming Chinese New Year -- The Spring Festival. The show started with a sublime, graceful and harmonious dance of five girls dressed in pink who looked like China dolls. A soloist with an Er Hu, the traditional Chinese violin, continued by playing a piece of traditional music. The melody \"the Moon Reflected in Two Springs\" suggested the story of one\'s life: sudden changes in intensity, alternations of solo and accompanying orchestra, ups and downs...just like one\'s life, with moments of loneliness and moments when one is accompanies by friends or enemies. The show continued with four maestros of Martial Arts who made proof of high ability and special techniques to break things with parts of their body, just like in the Chinese action films. The supreme art during this show was the changing of the faces. Dressed in a red traditional outfit and wearing a violet cape, dancing on the music, a face-changing artist changed at least twenty faces in fractions of seconds with an ability of a prestidigitator, to eventually show his real face, smiling to the audience who gave him strong applause of admiration. The inside show ended with a short speech delivered by China\'s new Ambassador to Romania, Huo Yuzhen, surrounded by all the artists of Mianyang Theatre. Huo wished a Happy New Year to all and said she was happy to be ambassador in a country where bilateral relations are so good. An outside show followed in front of the Opera House for half an hour: the Dance of the Dragon and the breathtaking fireworks, lavishly distributed across the sky, illuminated the downtown Bucharest. The event gathered some 1,000 spectators, including local cultural personalities, diplomats, representatives of the Chinese communities in Romania.
