Souq Waqif will hold a spring festival with Qatari cultural, artistic, and heritage celebrations from February 15-29 featuring a group of distinguished Gulf artists and international personalities. The celebrations will include circus acts and folklore bands which draw in visitors from the multi-cultural Qatar audience. "There will be a large variety of activities with the aim of bringing a smile to the faces of Souq Waqif visitors from all ages as they recall the beautiful past in addition to introducing foreigners to our heritage and culture through joyful shopping and entertainment acts," said General Manager of Souq Waqif Mohamed As-Salim. A moving stage and a children's tent specially set up with fun activities will also be made available, he explained. As- Salim remarked that Sout Al Rayyan radio station will also interview traditional artists as part of its efforts to promote this festival of high artistic value, famous for being one of the largest festivals in the Gulf area and the Arab region as far as the traditional music is concerned. Souq Waqif is considered to be a Doha tourist hot spot with an increasing number of visitors every year. Its year-round highlights include the Circus Festival, Eid Al Adha and Eid Al Fitr festivals, and musical events.
