Lars L. Lien ruminates on a variety of subject matter in his debut poetry collection, “All Sorts, Lies of a Kind” (published by AuthorHouse). “Society is sick,” claims the poet, “and the world and its variegated stages a troublesome, irking place. Man is an unlikely being, the living soul ambitious.” With an emphasis on social commentary, the poems in “All Sorts, Lies of a Kind” explore themes of estrangement, alienation, romance, materialism and the human condition in general. Lien’s stream of consciousness style is filled with evocative images and vividly brings his subject matter to life. Lien’s poem, “Relating to Estrange: II Estranged,” featured below in excerpt: “A daimon, and the rising sun, blast upon the liquid surface, while a woman is all mouth and seawards, her sting is heaven-sent, and then, the sun dies - it’s sharpening softness - its surface is turned to crust; solemnly, feelings escalate, again there’s thirst, and how she finds him - in close orbit to Earth’s mother - the moonman, in the midst of darkness.” Source: Prweb
