Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb on Monday attended here the celebrations of "Kuwait Capital of Islamic Culture 2016" and the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival, which kicked off in Kuwait under the auspices of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said the two celebrations genuinely underline Kuwait status in the Muslim world.
He stressed Kuwait's keenness on maintaining its cultural role; a role that has been characterized with moderation, openness, advocacy of peace, noble humanitarian values, whose adoption has earned the country the UN designation, the "Global Humanitarian Hub."
