Interim President Foued Mebazaa received, on Thursday at the Carthage Palace, a group of Tunisian film makers representing the different components of the movie industry, as part of trade unions or associations of the sector, with attendance of Culture Minister Ezzeddine Bach Chaouch. The meeting comes after the decree-law providing for the creation of a National Cinema and Photography Centre. On this occasion, emphasis was placed on the importance of this cultural gain which the Tunisian film makers have long aspired to. The meeting provided the opportunity to discuss the future of the Tunisian film-making, its creations and the industry, as well as means to develop the sector. The proposal aimed to create a cinematographic promotion fund held the attention of the interim President, who stressed the need to strive to materialise this idea. Mr. Foued Mebazaa emphasised the important role devolved on the cinematographic sector in supporting Tunisia's radiant image after the Dignity and Freedom Revolution.
