Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi announced inaugurating the new Nile Museum in Aswan on January 10 in the presence of Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.
The inauguration coincides with Aswan’s celebrations of its National Day, Moghazi said, adding that ambassadors and officials from the Nile Basin member states are invited to attend the three-day event.
This came during Moghazi’s visit to the Nile Museum to stand on the preparations for the inauguration ceremony.
In press statements, Moghazi said building the museum is a message to all the Nile Basin member states that Egypt expresses full and sincere cooperation with them.
The museum includes displays on the civilizations and traditions of the Nile Basin member states, he said.
Moghazi said that a senior Egyptian delegation from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation including four experts will leave for Ethiopia Tuesday to meet with irrigation officials and minister to discuss technical issues related to emergency openings in Renaissance Dam to guarantee that Egypt gets its due share in case of any malfunction in these openings.
