Jordanian artist Khaldoun Daoud is holding an exhibition at the ministry of foreign affairs in Berlin until May 27. Daoud, a prominent artist and art patron, has had a great impact on the artistic scene in Jordan. His exhibition titled, “Faces from the Jordan River”, shows his interest in a variety of aspects of life along this historical river, the place where different peoples, cultures and religions meet. Daoud is interested in topics like myth, religion, nature and architecture, but gives special attention to faces that “tell their own history”. Some paintings also reflect his feelings vis-à-vis the Arab uprisings. Daoud’s gallery in his hometown, Fuheis, Riwaq Al Balqa, works to support young Arab artists and promote local, regional and international art.
