Prime minister Sharif ismail
Cairo - MENA

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail will inaugurate on Sunday Nile Museum in Aswan in a large ceremony also to be attended by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi and a host of senior officials along with Arab, European and African ambassadors in Egypt in addition to public figures and representatives of donating bodies.

In statements Saturday, Moghazi said that the Nile Museum is a touristic place that narrates that history of the Nile River is not only in Egypt but also in the 11 member-states of the Nile Basin.

The inauguration of the museum coincides with Aswan National Day and the anniversary of building the High Dam, he said.

Establishing the museum took 12 years as it started in 2004 with the cost of EGP 82 million, he said, adding that it comprises three stories including paintings and archaeological artifacts.

There is a pavilion for each country of the Nile Basin member states, he said.

The museum also includes 250 archaeological artifacts, he said, adding that the Culture Ministry gave the museum 61 paintings.
