“Documents on Occupation of Iran during World War II”, published in five volumes, was unveiled during a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Wednesday. Published by the Presidential Center for Research, Evaluation, and Documents, the book series aim to explain part of the events Iran went through during the war. “A review of historical events actually helps the demand for justice by a nation that has been involved in the war and the documents revealed today would be approved by a just and fair court anywhere in the world,” Ahmadinejad said. He also regarded historical research as the best means to prevent future wars like World War II. “Publication of historical documents gives awareness to a nation saying as long as justice is not observed in the world, the situation will be just like the past and that today is the time a fair system must replace the current system to eradicate oppression in the world,” Ahmadinejad said. He also stressed that this collection needs to be made available for youth and university students. He also proposed that IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) arrange programs where historical publications are reviewed. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, Presidential advisor Mojtaba Hashemi-Samareh, and director of the Presidential Center for Research, Evaluation, and Documents Ali-Akbar Rezaii were among the participants in the ceremony.
