Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the National Archive (NA), which is affiliated to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, has signed an agreement to execute renovation work at the library of the Napoleon museum in the Italian Island of Elba.
The agreement was signed by the NA Director General, Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Al Reyes, and the director of the Museum, along with the representatives of the project developers.
Present during the signing ceremony were the NA's Executive Director Majed Sultan Al Mehairi, Abdul Aziz Nasser Al Raesi, Administrative Development Advisor and Farhan Al Marzouqi, Director of Corporate Communications.
Following the signing, Dr. Al Rayes said the renovation and digitisation of the library would help in preserving its stock of rare books which chronicle a very critical era in the history of civilisation.
He further said the renovation work will be completed in one year. He thanked the UAE embassy in Rome and the Ambassador, Nasser Al Raesi, for their efforts in facilitating this project.
