Côte d'Ivoire’s Minister of Culture and Francophonie Maurice Kouakou Bandama on Thursday highlighted the importance of Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF), saying it is positive and serves talents from around the continent.
On the sidelines of the event at the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, the minister urged continued organization of the festival to serve the continent.
Bandama noted that Côte d'Ivoire participates in the festival’s fifth edition that kicked off Thursday.
Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr said the festival reflects cooperation between the African states.
The festival is mainly funded by the ministries of tourism, culture, youth and foreign affairs.
The selections include short films from the 68th edition of Cannes Festival and the 10th edition of Short Shorts as part of the first aspects of collaboration with these two renowned festivals.
