A Separation (2011) has picked up a Golden Globe award for best foreign language film, a Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and an Oscar for best foreign film at the 2012 Academy Awards. Written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, the Iranian domestic drama tackles traditions, relationships and divorce in modern-day Iran.
