Zimbabwe will host an international film festival next month, state radio reported on Friday. Film producers and directors from across the globe are in Zimbabwe for this year\'s International Images for Women Festival being held under the theme \"Women Alive\". The festival kicks off with a Japanese film \"The Stars Converge\" and the screening of the film \"Education\" by Auma Obama from Kenya. More than 80 films are scheduled to be screened at various theatre venues across the country. The festival provides a space where women can come together to network, bond and build their dreams in as far as the world of film is concerned. Women filmmakers rarely have this opportunity outside the festival week. This eleventh edition of the festival will showcase documentaries, feature and short films all showing how women can come up with films that address gender related issues. Other films to be screened include Linda from Japan, Fraulein from Switzerland, Queen to play from France, Lark Farm from Italy, End of The Road from Iran and Cultures of Resistance from USA. New categories at the International Images for Women Festival include the New Man and Shasha. Highlights include \'I Will Marry Myself\' by Melgin Tafirenyika and Stephen Visser. Other local films include \'Meso Meso\', \'Mpiyabo\' and \'Makomborero\'. Screenings will take place in Harare, Bulawayo and Binga until Dec. 6.
