A book celebrating the march of the national press has today been released. Titled "Bahrain Press: History and Dedication", the book is the brainchild of Bahraini researcher Sager bin Abdulla Al-Maawda. The book launch was on the sidelines of the festivities marking the issuance of the first ever newspaper in Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf region seventy-five years ago. The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Information Affairs and Government's Official Spokesperson Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab and Information Affairs Authority (IAA) President Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, in addition to journalists, media, intellectual and cultural figures. The author presented the minster and the IAA chief with copies of the book. The minister also signed a copy of the valuable publication. The book documents the march of the national press and its pioneers in recognition of their role in enriching the cultural and intellectual life in Bahrain.
