Egyptian Ambassador to US Mohamed Tawfiq will deliver a lecture at the American University in Cairo on his novel "Candygirl" published by the university's Publication House.
His novel is the first piece of literature to be reviewed as part of the One Book – One Conversation – One Community initiative launched by the university's Pathways to a Common Reading Program.
The novel is an exciting mix of action thriller and science fiction, set in a world of espionage and avatars.
The AUC initiative aims at encouraging university students to read more.
The ambassador has three other short stories in Arabic language.
