A book titled " Friendship Across the Pamir -- the Review and Prospect on Tajikistan and China Establishing Diplomatic Relations at 22 Years Anniversary" has been published here by Hong Kong Wenhui Press.
The publication came days ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's arrival in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on Thursday for the 14th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and a state visit to Tajikistan.
Tajikistan is China's close neighbor and an important strategic partner. It is also one of the important partner countries with China to build a New Silk Road Economic Belt.
Prior to the publication of the book written by Rashid Alimov, Tajik ambassador to China, and Yin Shuguang, deputy chief editor in Hong Kong Wen Wei Po, former chief reporter of the People's Daily stationed in Central Asia and also a senior expert on Central Asia and Russia.
The Hong Kong society was not very familiar with the Central Asian country and Hong Kong had never published a comprehensive book describing Tajikistan and Central Asia.
Therefore, the book, with five chapters, can fill the gap on the China-Tajikistan relationship as well as the China-Central Asia countries relationship. The book also helps the Hong Kong community to understand the past, present situation and prospects of China's relations with Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan.
