While the Crusades are a well-known religious conflict in history, the French Wars of Religion often aren’t. Author and history buff Kenn Joubert feels it’s time for a change and uses the French Wars of Religion as the setting for the first book in his new Huguenot trilogy, “Escape to Freedom: Book One of the ‘Huguenot Trilogy’” (published by Trafford Publishing). Using real figures from the time period, “Escape to Freedom” tells the story of Pierre Jaubert, a young farmer and member of the Huguenots, or Protestants. Fearing the spread of Protestantism, the King of France sends a band of Dragoons to the countryside to put a stop to the Huguenots. Fearing for his life and the safety of his family and friends, Pierre wounds a Dragoon captain. The captain, bleeding and wounded, vows his revenge on Pierre and his people. “Escape to Freedom” marks the first entry in the Huguenot Trilogy, which follows Pierre on the run as an outlaw, hunted down by the captain he wounded and the captain’s Dragoon army. Pierre, never wanting to be a hero, finds himself in the company of an army of Huguenots, taking part in a rebellion that could save him and his people. Source: PRWEB
