Indian stand-up Anuvab Pal, of The Nation Wants to Know fame, will bring the funny to Dubai for two days, on May 7-8, at Ductac.
The MIT-educated playwright, who has just concluded a stand-up tour of India, will be bringing his Anuvab Pal vs The Empire show to the UAE, coming off the success of his last tour, The Nation Wants to Know.
With credits including being part of the script writing team for the award-winning NBC show Frasier and the BBC’s Goodness Gracious Me!, Pal famously co-wrote the cult 2007 comedy Loins of Pubjab Presents.
Anuvab Pal vs The Empire is loosely based on the history of India under British rule and will see the stand-up play a host of characters, from a soft-spoken Bengali intellect to a kebab-chomping Son of Punjab, from TV anchor Arnab Goswami to a Silicon Valley geek, and an annoying ‘uncle’ on an Air India flight.
Tickets, starting at Dh75, are available on platinumlist.ae or at the Ductac box office. Call 04-3414777.
