From the event TOD’S and Vogue US hosted a cocktail event to celebrate the launch of Claiborne Swanson Frank’s Assouline photography book “American Beauty”, featuring portraits shot by Claiborne
of various fashionable American women: editors, socials, models, designers, musicians, artists, etc.
About 250 people attended the event at the grand space in Park Avenue, uptown New York, including many of the women featured in the book and guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails along with music by DJ Solange Knowles, sister of Beyoncé. TOD’S and Vogue proved to be the ideal partners to host Claiborne’s book launch, as she has roots to both brands, working for Vogue and appearing in TOD’S Spring 2011 “An Italian Moment” advertising campaign. TOD’s represents everyday modern women, having dressed many of the women featured in the book and TOD’s heritage and products match these women’s fashionable and elegant taste. To evoke the book’s message of “American Beauty”, TOD’s displayed their iconic products such as the Gommino and the D bag in a color array of red, white and blue throughout the event space. “I will never forget that TOD’s shoot in a charming little beach town outside of Rome. It was one of those days where life seems to be in Technicolor and everything feels very much like a dream. I like the strong sense of structure and shape of the products. It’s something you can wear for years,” Claiborne says about TOD’s.
