As part of Reno’s Artown, The Ballroom of Reno is offering six 30-minute free group dance classes and a special donation-based performance, on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 2 – 6 pm. Each lesson will begin with a narrated teacher demonstration of the dance performed at bronze, silver, and gold levels, followed by beginning level instruction. An inspiring 45-min. dance show will begin at 4pm (suggested minimum donation $5). No cost beginning level dance classes include Rumba (2 pm), Foxtrot (2:30 pm), Night Club Two-Step (3 pm), East Coast Swing (3:30 pm), Waltz (5 pm) and Tango (5:30 pm). There is no donation required to participate in the dance classes; however, participants who donate any amount will be given a certificate for a free 45-minute introduction to the Ballroom of Reno, including a 30-minute private dance lesson. Artown, recipient of five consecutive National Endowment for the Arts grant awards, brings the arts to life in Reno each July with hundreds of events, workshops and programs. “The Ballroom of Reno is delighted to share our passion for dance with the community though our Artown event,” said Jeffrey Lynn, a certified “Grand Master” in all dance styles through the Dance Visions (DIVIDA) organization, and co-founder of The Ballroom of Reno. “The Ballroom of Reno has something to offer everyone, and it is our vision to help Northern Nevada discover the joy of movement and dance.” Erin Scully, co-founder of The Ballroom of Reno and certified dance instructor, added, “Group classes are an ideal way for individuals or couples to be introduced to the thrill of ballroom dancing. Everyone is welcome, with or without a dance partner.” Source: PRWEB
