Jeri Brunoe, whose acting resume includes films such as “Buffalo Soldiers,” television appearances, commercials and various theater roles, will host a special performance of her one-woman show “Salmon Woman” at St. Paul’s Ordway Center for the Performing Arts to benefit the American Indian Prison Project Working Group on Aug. 23, 2014. Brunoe’s friend and “Buffalo Soldiers” co-star Danny Glover will serve as host for the evening as well as appear at a special VIP reception with Brunoe following the performance.
"Salmon Woman" tells the story of one woman embarking on a life journey that echoes the transforming nature of the salmon. Through song, dance, and the narration of five characters, she tells the story of growing up on an Indian Reservation. From the dark, oceanic depths of sorrow to the healing light of calm waters, she braves the currents along many seasons of change to survive — and finally thrive in triumph.
