Gabriel Ebert, Matt Ryan and Judith Light are to co-star with Keira Knightley in the Broadway play Thérèse Raquin this fall, the Roundabout Theatre Company announced.
Helen Edmundson's stage adaptation of the novel by Émile Zola will be directed by Evan Cabnet.
Thérèse Raquin is scheduled to begin preview performances Oct. 1 at Studio 54. It will officially open Oct. 29.
"A quiet young woman with a restless spirit, Thérèse submits to a loveless life at the side of her weak and selfish husband played by Tony Award-winner Gabriel Ebert, and her controlling mother-in-law, played by two-time Tony Award-winner Judith Light... until she meets his childhood friend Laurent played by Matt Ryan," a synopsis said. "When their overwhelming passion spins violently out of control, they realize that love can be a dangerous game, and sometimes there is no winner."
