Kevin Bacon is to star in the Hartford Stage's upcoming production of Rear Window.
Directed by Darko Tresnjak and written by Keith Reddin, the play will begin performances Oct. 22 and is expected to run through Nov. 15.
"Murder is in the eye of the beholder," the play's website said.
"A sweltering New York summer. A man confined to his wheelchair spends hour after hour watching his neighbors. Is he imagining things, or has he witnessed a murder? A thrilling adaptation of the classic crime story -- Rear Window by Cornell Woolrich -- that inspired the Alfred Hitchcock film."
Bacon recently wrapped the third and final season of the serial killer series The Following. Among his many films are Mystic River, A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Footloose, Murder in the First, JFK, The Woodsman, X-Men: First Class, Sleepers and The River Wild. His theater credits include Forty Deuce, Spike Heels and the Broadway productions of Slab Boys and An Almost Holy Picture.
