The jury of the 10th National Festival of Professional Theatre (FNTP) awarded Tuesday in Algiers the Grand Prize of the festival to the play "La voie lactée" (The milky way", best show of this edition.
At a closing and awards ceremony held at the Algerian National Theatre Mahieddine-Bachtarzi (TNA), Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi attributed to director Missoum Laroussi the highest award of the festival.
"It is an honor to receive such an award from the Minister of Culture. This award is a reward for a collective effort involving actors and all the members of the work. I dedicate it to all the artists and missing persons of +the national tragedy+," stressed Missoum.
Produced by the cultural and artistic cooperative "Friends of Art" of Chlef, the winning play, adapted by Missoum Laroussi from the eponymous piece by playwright and German writer Karl Wittlinger, tells the story of a patriot who lost his memory, his identity and assets, following a disappearance that lasted ten years.
The Jury Prize was awarded to theater Kateb Yacine Tizi-Ouzou for the play "Tifi" directed by Lyes Mokrab, while the prizes of best text was won by Director Mohamed Cherchel for the play "El Haicha" (The Beast), produced by the Algerian National Theatre (TNA).
The director Fawzi Benbrahim, was given the best director award for the play "Ouzid n'zidlek" of Batna Regional Theatre, while best scenography price was awarded to Yahia Benâamar for the show "Tahaoulat" (transformations) produced by the Regional Theatre of Souk Ahras.
