6.9 magnitude quake strikes Chile-Argentina border

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck a region along the border of Chile and Argentina on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake, which hit at 1857 GMT, was centered about 110 kilometers (68 miles) east of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, the USGS said. It struck at a depth of nearly 269 kilometers.
