Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Italy and Permanent Representative to the Rome-based UN agencies Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Akwa expressed Yemen\'s appreciation over the World Food Programme (WFP)\'s activity in the country. Al-Akwa called, at the WFP\'s executive meeting, the friendly donors\' countries to continue supporting Yemen, particularly in its ongoing difficult circumstances in order to address these difficulties. He also pointed out to the challenges faced by Yemen, which greatly influenced the lives of many people in Yemen negatively, asserting Yemen\'s keenness to cooperate with the WFP via offering the overall facilities required by the program in order to carry out its programs in Yemen successfully. The WFP executive board approved, in its annual meeting held for three days, the project of food aid program to promote the education of girls in Yemen of US$ 8912899 that is to be implemented over two years starting from July 2013 until June 2015. The objectives of the development project are to address gender gaps in education and to alleviate poverty and food insecurity as well.
