The 14th Regional Seminar for Insurance Supervisors will start on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi under the title "Solvency and Risks", organised by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) in collaboration with each of the Financial Stability Institute (FSI), which is operated by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
Participating in the three-day Seminar are a number of FSI and IAIS officials, along with a large number of representatives of the concerned supervisory authorities in insurance sector in the Arab countries.
The seminar will discuss ways to promote awareness of the risks facing the insurance industry and the supervisory tools and methods to assess these risks, as well as the aspects of enhancing governance and internal supervisory in insurance companies.
Director-General and Chairman of the AMF Abdulrahman Al Hamid emphasized the importance of the support that the insurance sector in the Arab countries are gained in light of the economic and financial developments in the region, as well as the importance of the Seminar in recognizing the requirements of the development of the supervisory legislation and promoting awareness of the risks facing the insurance industry
