The Cabinet Affairs Minister, Ahmed Saad Omer, has called for speeding up implementation of the Standards City project in Soba area, referring to the strategic importance of the project and its role in boosting the national economy.
This came when he chaired Monday the first meeting of the higher committee for implementing the project of the Standards City which will include central laboratories coping with the international standards and attracting support and equipment from the international organizations and providing training.
The Standards City in Soba is intended to be regional reference for East and Central Africa region in the field of standards and metrology.
