The Palestine Investment Fund (PIF) announced the start of a program to support small enterprises in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, said PIF chairman and CEO, Mohammad Mustafa on Sunday. The program comes in line with President Mahmoud Abbas' plan to support and provide economic empowerment for Palestinian refugees, especially in Lebanon, due to their situation and the hardships they face. Mustafa said the program will benefit Palestinians in refugee camps in Lebanon by supporting existing small enterprises and providing new job opportunities. “The details of the mechanism of the program are still being prepared, but its basic idea is to provide easy loans to small craftsmanship owners, which will help create new jobs, develop their businesses and thus improve their living standards,” added Mustafa.
