Tunisia has issued an international tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of wheat, European traders said on Friday. Bidding deadline was also Friday. Shipment was in four 25,000 tonne consignments in August to September, depending on origin. The tender is the latest in a surge in buying from Middle Eastern countries after Russia ended its grain export ban on July 1. Egypt and Russia bought Russian wheat in tenders this week while Syria also sought 100,000 tonnes of wheat. Tunisia said in June it had permitted Russian wheat in its tenders again.
