Iraqi Planning Minister Salman al Jumaili discussed with the director of the local development project, which is affiliated to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) , mechanisms to implement the local development project in its second phase at a total cost of 12 million euros, funded by the European Union.
During the meeting held on Monday, Jumaili said that the project constitutes a great importance for Iraq as it supports general policies, offers services and develops planning process throughout Iraqi provinces.
The project will increase coordination between the central government and the local governments, he added.
He also said that the project aims to prepare local strategies and offer support to the institutions.
