There is a huge opportunity to increase Egyptian exports to West Africa through the "Egypt-Lebanon to Africa initiative", President of the African Continental Council, the representatives of Lebanese communities in Africa, Abbas Fawaz said.
Speaking to MENA, Fawaz said a delegation of Lebanese businesspersons living in Africa will visit Egypt next week to meet their Egyptian peers and learn about the Egyptian industry.
From 15 to 20 businesspersons will be part of the mission, most of them working in commerce, he said.
They are mainly living in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Democratic Congo and Angola, among other countries, Fawaz said.
The most Egyptian exports suitable for Africa will be construction materials, garments, carpets and appliances, he noted.
Egypt's main competitor in Africa will be China, he said.
The initiative was launched this month during the Arab Economic Forum in Beirut.
