Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil held a session of talks with CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) Hani Sonbol on ways of benefiting from financing mechanisms provided by the institution to serve Egypt's export sector.
In a statement released by the ministry on Thursday, Qabil said that doubling Egypt's exports is one of the strategic axes recently launched by the ministry.
The ministry is about to establish an independent entity to enhance the export sector, he added.
He, meanwhile, underlined the importance of cooperating with the ITFC which depends on the competitive advantages in each exporting sector.
The head of the ITFC, for his part, said that the ITFC welcomes contribution to the Egyptian program to increase exports, especially that the institution has successful experiments in this respect.
He also invited Qabil to attend the ministerial conference, which will be organized by the ITFC in Morocco in February on launching an initiative to extend the Arab-African bridges, which aim to promote economic and trade cooperation between the Arab and African countries.
