The Minister of Oil and Gas, Dr. Mohamed Zayed Awad, received in his office Tuesday the visiting Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Renaldo Bolivar, and called on Venezuela to invest in the oil field in Sudan.
Present at the meeting were the Ambassador of Venezuela to Khartoum and the delegation accompanying to the Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister.
Dr. Zayed has gave a briefing on the opportunities of investment at the oil and gas production fields, gas processing, establishment of refineries, deposits and petroleum utilities, oil pipelines and derivatives.
He said that the ministry has made available all the data and feasibility studies for all projects set for investment at the oil and gas sectors which will be exposed in an international tender which will be announced in the coming period.
The minister has appreciated the efforts of Venezuela in tackling the international oil prices by signing the oil production reduction agreement which was also signed by Sudan under the umbrella of OPEC.
He called for boosting the cooperation between Sudan and Venezuela in the economic and investment fields and the exchange of experiences between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister has expressed the desire of his country to strengthen it cooperation and the exchange of experiences with Sudan in the economic investment fields.
He referred to the desire of Venezuelan companies and businessmen to operate in Sudan and to hold partnerships with the Sudanese businessmen.
