Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bark Al-Qirbi met here today with World Bank Office Director Wa’el Zakout to discuss aspects of cooperation between Yemen and the Bank and means of bolstering them. During the meeting Al-Qirbi praised the partnership between Yemen and the Bank and its contribution to enhancing development in the country, welcoming the Bank’s intention to resume activity in Yemen. The Yemeni Foreign Minister stressed that addressing the economic situation is a priority in the coming stage which requires support of the international community and donors to enable Yemen overcome the impact of the crisis it passed through. He expressed full readiness to provide all facilities to the bank to carry out its mission. For his part, Zakout said the Bank is about to resume its activities in Yemen, expressing its readiness to continue the support of development in the country especially during the coming stage.
