Bahraini National Oil and Gas Authority received nine bids from international Gas and Oil companies during the opening of tender to export LNG to Bahrain last week, said Bahraini Minister of Energy Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza on Saturday. In a press statement, the Minister said that the authority will evaluate the bids before choosing the winning company that will produce between 400 and 800 million square feet of LNG daily. The Minister said that the bids made by the company proves that there is a strong belief and trust in Bahrain despite the unfortunate events that occurred lately. The Minister added that the authority will set up a port to receive the ships transporting LNG. He noted that Bahrain currently consumes up to one billion and 300 million cubic feet daily. He added that the LNG will be transformed to natural gas to be used for a number of utilities such as industry and generating electricity
