Bupa Arabia launched for the first time its “Maternity Booth” at the GNP Hospital in Jeddah, through its unique program, Tebtom.
The booth provides breastfeeding mothers the privacy and comfort they need to feed their children during hospital visits.
Judy Jisri, Tebtom program manager at Bupa Arabia, said: “We are extremely proud to launch the maternity booth; we aim to engage with mothers directly in order to educate them about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding vs. bottle feeding/formula. The booth is manned by a dedicated female Bupa delegate who provides mothers with health care advice revolving around childcare and nutrition.”
Hamsa Mufti, Tebtom’s Maternity & Childcare operational manager, said: “The establishment of the maternity booth is a unique and significant initiative to directly support mothers and help them overcome breastfeeding difficulties and inconveniences in public places. Our members’ feedback was very positive; and mothers were happy to find the booth at their disposal, some actually commented on how great it was to have a small dedicated play area for their older children tagging along with them.”
This initiative is a continuation of the numerous outstanding services that the Tebtom program offers.
The Maternity & Childcare service provides mothers with the best health care experience throughout their maternity journey, from the moment of conception till the child reaches the age of two.
Services include guidance, nutritional consultations for both mother and child, breastfeeding tips and vaccination reminders.
The Tebtom program offers additional services including: Doctor on Phone, Chronic Care, International Second Medical Opinion, Cancer Care and Elderly Care.
These services mirror Bupa Arabia’s commitment to fulfil its promise of being the best health care provider in the Kingdom, offering community members a healthier and happier life.
