The Italian Embassy's stand at the 24th edition of HORECA hosted a group of Lebanese companies importing leading Italian products. In 2016 Italy exported to Lebanon 60 million US dollars of food and beverages.
Thanks to these companies a wide variety of Italian food and beverage brands, testimonials of the Italian world-wide recognized excellence, are present in the Lebanese market. Among them, IBIS cold cuts and Nutella hazelnut spread imported by Vincenti; ice cream and frozen yogurt, pastry machines and pastry ingredients imported by GEMCO; cold cuts, cheese, truffles, balsamic vinegar and many other specialties imported by Alimentums. In addition, the Lebanese company Moulin d'Or has launched its Italian bread, pastry and sweets line.
On the opening day, Ambassador Massimo Marotti took part to the inauguration ceremony and presented the Italian Pavilion to the Minister of Tourism, H.E. Mr. Avedis Guidanian, and Mrs Joumana Dammous Salamé from Hospitality Services.
As a side event, the Italian Embassy, in cooperation with Italian Trade Agency (ITA), its partner in the event, organized a wine tasting at the institutional stand on April 5th. The event provided invitees with a tasting of high quality Italian Prosecco. The tasting was kindly sponsored by Tire Bouchon sarl, a young Lebanese company importing different and high quality Italian wines.
The Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) presented its activities and courses, namely on Italian cuisine, on the 6th of April.
During the whole event at the Italian stand it was possible to taste the products of the companies above mentioned as well as Italian candies and chocolates imported by Triple Line Sarl, Italian Coffee imported by Mokka and Co and Italian Mineral Waters.
