Nasser Bin Khaled, Qatar’s leading business conglomerate, in association with Qatar Charity has launched its annual Ramadan goodwill drive, which includes a series of philanthropic initiatives. On the occasion, Ahmad Youssef al-Mulla of Qatar Charity along with a delegation visited the NBK premises and discussed with NBK CEO Ayman al Abassi, future partnership plans . NBK is sponsoring Qatar Charity’s banquets offered to people in need at tents erected at Madinat Khalifa, South District. The tents will cater to 400 people every day. NBK will also be distributing 300 daily Iftar meal boxes to passersby across different locations in Qatar in partnership with Qatar Charity. Ayman al-Abbasi said: “Year on year, we look forward to launching our NBK Ramadan Goodwill Drive; it is central to our corporate message, values and vision of being a conscious corporate citizen. It is an opportunity for colleagues to join hands and to spread the key learning that Ramadan bequeaths and which promote gaining ‘Taqwa’, nearness to God Almighty, acquiring patience, cultivating good manners and unity.” Al Mulla said: “ I would like to thank our long-term partner Nasser Bin Khaled for their annual commitment to support our programmes. I would also like to thank Sheikh Nawaf Nasser bin Khaled al Thani for maintaining this significant corporate citizenship culture within the company which has become an exemplar and a vanguard of philanthropy in Qatar.” NBK’s name has been linked to several societal activities and community outreach programmes. Over the past four years, NBK has sponsored several charity banquets in Qatar. In addition, the company sponsored Qatar Charity’s Back to School programme tending to the academic needs of thousands of students. NBK’s Ramadan Goodwill Drive also saw the donation of special vehicles to various organisations caring for people with special needs.
