Fifty Tunisian enterprises operating in the agri-food sector, including 14 olive oil packers, will take part in the international agri-food exhibition, Gulfood 2017, February 26-March 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
These Tunisian enterprises will display a large variety of agri-food products such as olive oil, dates, canned tuna, sardines, tomatoes and jam, juices, cakes, sweets, pasta and cheese, according to an Exports Promotion Centre (CEPEX) press release, Friday.
A lecture on the Tunisian agri-food sector will be given by the CEPEX representative in Dubai on the fringes of the exhibition and B2B meetings for the benefit of Tunisian enterprises are scheduled.
A culinary show will also be held in the Tunisian Pavilion all along the exhibition, in collaboration with the Packaging Technical Centre (PACKTEC).
PACKTEC said in a press release that the participation of Tunisian packers in this event aims to “reinforce the Tunisian packaged olive oil exports toward Dubai, which represents the incontestable platform of the Middle East and North Africa with a 5.2-million-inhabitant market, 85% of whom are foreigners.”
Some 5,000 exhibitors and firms and 95,000 visitors are expected in Gulfood 2017, considered as the world’s largest annual food event in the MENA region that serves one of the fastest growing sectors on the planet.
