The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday rebounded and closed at 9,952.9 points.
Data from the United States indicate that the U.S. economy may be picking up, which encouraged investors, according to local analysts. The DAX index went up by 90.78 points, or 0.92 percent.
The utilities company EON led the risers' list with an increase of 2.91 percent. Merck, a science and technology company, rose by 2.25 percent. Continental climbed by 1.9 percent. Deutsche Telekom added 1.76 percent. Deutsche Post went up by 1.47 percent.
On the other hand, adidas fell by 3.09 percent. BMW lost 2.58 percent. Fresenius Medical Care dropped by 0.9 percent. HeidelbergCement slipped by 0.79 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa went down by 0.72 percent.
Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 350.13 million euros (around 396.06 million U.S. dollars).
