VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 674.63 points on Wednesday, up 1.96 points, or 0.29 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 115.731 million shares worth 2.926 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (133.52 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 126 stocks went up, 88 stocks fell down, while 81 stocks remained unchanged.
VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 665.25 points, up 4.05 points, or 0.61 percent.
A total of 49.948 million shares worth 1.826 trillion VND (83.31 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Wednesday.
