Retail trade in Bahrain has recovered 75 per cent of the business lost during three months of turbulent anti-government protests during February, March and April. The head of the retail and traditional markets committee for the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Indusrty (BCCI), Jawal Al Hawaj, said Monday that retailers are seeing a significant rebound. Curfew laws lifted A curfew and emergency security laws were lifted in June following politcal violence which resulted in at least 30 death and saw hundreds arrested by Bahraini police. Al Hawaj estimated that the retail sector has rebounded by 75 per cent. Article continues below The BCCI, retailers and government agencies are throwing their support to a Bahrain summer shopping festival in an effort to increase footfall in Manama\'s malls. The National Dialogue, which aims to discuss how to improve political, social and economic conditions in the kingdom, opens Tuesday evening, with sessions set three times a week between more than 300 delegates representing all sections of Bahrain society.
